Since 2016, I have been competing competitively in JR. Gold, Teen Masters, SYC, PBA Junior, and both Regional and Local tournaments. I have been graciously coached by the some of the best in the nation, including the ITRC staff and Rod and Teresa Ross.
Over the last 4 years, I have volunteered numerous times for the ITRC Combine, being able to track and film athletes in their games.
When I was in 8th grade, I was asked to join the Varsity Girls Bowling Team at KAT Cup, hosted by Sam Houston State University. This event allowed me to come to the conclusion that I am good at my sport, because I had bowled well on sport shot, happening to beat all of the girls on my team. As a team, we came in 2nd overall for the tournament.
Throughout the years, I have been able to work on my bowling knowledge, mental game strategies, and have extremely progressed in all aspects of the game, but there is still more to learn. In the 2021-2022 High School Bowling season, I was Team Captain and ranked 5th in Texas with a 205 District average and 238 Regional Tournament average. This allowed me to place first in District, Regionals, and be the top qualifier at the Texas High School State Championships with a 734. Making it to the Quarter finals at High School State, I lost to one of my best friends, Maggie Thoma, who went on to win her second state title. I was very proud of myself, because I had not shot less than 200 all day, and lost 207-259.
School has always been fun for me. I have a passion for math and science. With a current unweighted GPA of 4.0, I'm currently 14th in my class of 584. I am currently enrolled in 4 AP, or dual-college, classes, including and extra science and math as electives. As I am involved in the High School's Varsity Bowling Team, Honors Orchestra, and the National Honor Society, I keep myself busy and challenged.
Orchestra has been a passion of mine since the 4th grade. I started with the violin, and in 6th grade, I chose to move to cello which I have have come to love. It has become a stress reliver for me and keeps my mind clear. being my only true elective. I have been on the Honor Orchestra since my sophomore year and I enjoy to competing in UIL events.
I have made many friends throughout the country; through Teen Master, Junior Gold, and Storm Youth Championships. Most keep in touch every once in a while, but most of them are in college, or live far away.
Throughout all my years of bowling, my two best friends have been my biggest competitors. It's interesting how that works. They both bowl for a the rival high school, in which my father coaches. We have all supported each other through the wins and losses of the years, and most likely will continue to do so throughout our lives. This year will be a transition year, as they both head of college to continue their bowling careers. We hope to be competing again in 2023, but this time at a collegiate level.
At the age of 11, my father encouraged me to complete my Open Water Scuba Diver Certification. I began to love diving and completed my Advanced Scuba Diver Certification at age 12, and went on to complete my Rescue Diver at age 14. The biggest accomplishment so far was completing the Master Scuba Diver Certification at age 15.
Many instructors at have asked me to join the new Junior Divemaster Program , but I think I'm going to wait until I turn 18, so I can complete the entire program.
With over 100 dives under my belt, I feel very accomplished and will continue to enjoy for the rest of my life.
Picking up from my Rescue Diver Training, it was a natural fit for me to be a Lifeguard at the #1 waterpark in the nation. Lucky for me its located in my hometown and I truly enjoy the work. Being short staffed last summer included a lot of double shifts and long days, but at the end I made some really great friends. During the summer, my employer understood my bowling schedule and allows me the time off I need for national tournaments. Becoming a lifeguard has reinforced my work ethic and and given me the opportunity to promote to a LEAD lifeguard, where I will be leading a team of lifeguards on a daily basis.
